Welcome to Spotless Mind Mental Health Counseling!
We are so glad you are here. Taking care of our mental health is one of our most important responsibilities! The state of our mental heath not only influences how we think and feel within ourselves, but how we perceive, judge or behave in our interactions with others.
We know how much clients may be struggling when they make the decision to begin therapy and how many times they've likely been turned away or have gotten no response at all. We are dedicated to leaving no person, couple, or family without access to the mental health care that they need. As the Director and Founder of SMMHC, I am amazed everyday (but not surprised!) by my compassionate and skilled staff and the AWESOME work they do with their clients! Our practice continues to grow, pursuing our goals and values of never having turning away a person in need. We look forward to working with you.
Peace and tranquility,
Jenna

Everyone has the power to create change in their life, sometimes we just need a little help to get there. Whether you are struggling with the challenges of life, going through a rough patch, or have a goal in mind but are experiencing roadblocks, you do not have to go through it alone. As your therapist, I will be a guide to helping you achieve goals and create change. You have the power to be the person you want to be.
I see counseling as collaborative, where we work together to get where you want. I strive to create a space for you to share whatever you are going through, with empathy and support. Having knowledge of a mix of therapeutic approaches, I tailor them to your needs to create an individualized experience. I also am a certified yoga and meditation instructor, which I implement into my practice.
I hope to be along in your journey of finding and utilizing your personal strengths. Together we can work on building self awareness, coping skills, and an overall happier and healthier life.

The need to prioritize ourselves and our mental health has never been more important. As someone who has battled with generalized anxiety, OCD, and panic disorder since childhood, I have intimate knowledge of the turmoil and suffering associated with mental health issues and how it can affect every aspect of our life. I’m also aware that our mental health is a journey of growth, which involves a daily commitment to show up for ourselves and do the work in order to craft a healthier mindset. The awareness we might want to speak to someone is the first step in making a change in our lives in order to better ourselves and our health.
My own mental health journey, coupled with my previous decade-long career as a high-school English teacher, and being certified in Eastern practices while living in Australia, including: Reiki (energy and chakra balancing); crystal and vibrational healing; essential oils; mindfulness; and meditation, allow me to bring an eclectic and integrative approach to counseling with various treatment modalities customized to your needs.
As a holistic counselor, I aim to meet you where you’re at, provide a safe, empathetic environment, build a strong therapeutic relationship, and create a treatment plan that uses a blend of techniques, resources, and psychoeducation within each session. Allowing yourself to be your biggest advocate for a more-balanced life is the first step in being your own agent of change, and I’m confident you can do it. I look forward to working with you!

Sometimes you may feel stuck, need a little help sorting out your thoughts, or have trouble understanding your emotions, but the good news is you do not have to do it alone.
Mental health affects every part of your life, and I am here to provide a safe, empathetic, and judgement-free space to explore and express what you are experiencing.
It is important to talk about your feelings and experiences, and by examining them together we can address any concerns regarding anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, and compulsions or intrusive thoughts. We can then work on building coping skills to help you deal with life’s stressors along the way.
I collaboratively work with individuals to improve their mental health by utilizing an integrated and evidence-based treatment approach. Psychodynamic talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and psychoeducation are just a few of the treatment approaches that I incorporate into my practice, as I believe therapy is not “one size fits all” and should be individualized just for you.
I look forward to helping guide you along your journey to a happier and healthier mental well-being.

Through therapy, my hope is to build a trusting partnership with you — one where we explore the best path forward together. I hope to provide a warm, empathic, supportive, non-judgmental, and safe space to explore the depth of your inner truth and help you actualize the life you envision for yourself.
Together, we will explore past experiences, including family dynamics and your early life to provide insight into how you can cope with issues impacting you most now. I have found that, oftentimes, we are more resilient than we believe we are. My job is to support you as you harness that strength and find hope again.
I have over ten years experience as a school psychologist and more recently have supported clients in a community mental health setting. Working as a clinician in private practice, my style of therapy is honest, collaborative, thoughtful, and built on a strong foundation of trust and respect.
I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you and figure out if we would be a good fit. You're welcome to call or email me to schedule a brief consultation. I'm looking forward to hearing from you! And, if our paths do not cross, I wish you all the best on your journey towards living as your best self!

Mental health is often overlooked, undervalued, and stigmatized. Throughout my life I have come to realize the importance of mental health and the need for counseling services that make people feel comfortable and understood. Simply opening up the dialogue around mental health can be powerful enough to change the stigma surrounding it and has inspired me to become a part of that change.
My goal is to help others gain the self-awareness that will allow for personal growth and emotional strength. Through our work together we can explore relationships, experiences, thoughts, behaviors, and how they each relate and connect to each other. My hope is that through discussing what may feel like weaknesses, we can learn to appreciate and accept all the features that make you unique and create a stronger sense of self.
I aim to provide the support and education that I know can change the lives of those in need. I hope to be a part of the next chapter of mental health; a chapter in which people are encouraged to talk about their thoughts, feelings, and struggles, rather than hiding them. I want to help people feel proud and strong, not embarrassed or ashamed. Sometimes all we really need is someone to talk to who we know will be there to listen.

Do you want to make changes in your life to start living a happier, healthier and more positive
life? If the answer to that question is yes, I am happy to tell you I am here to help!
Throughout my own mental health journey, I was able to reach out to a counselor and learn ways to cope and deal with the emotions and anxiety I was struggling with. This helped me live a happier and more positive life, as well as perform better in athletics (one of the things that brought me into counseling). I love to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Positive Psychology techniques mixed with evidenced-based interventions from various other treatment modalities. My goal is teach you a variety of helpful tools and skills specific to the issues you are facing.
In the athletic world, Mental Health is often stigmatized. However, professional athletes like tennis player Naomi Osaka and swimmer Michael Phelps, have helped shine a light on mental health. These role models have allowed many athletes to acknowledge and address their mental health issues. These struggles for athletes go all the way down to school and community sports starting at a young age and could create stress, low self-esteem and depression.
Whatever you are going through, I provide a warm, welcoming and non judgmental environment. I want you to know that your feelings are valid and you are safe with me! I hope to meet you and help you accomplish your goals!

Jennifer Gattuso MHC-I
First and foremost, I want to commend you for taking the first step of looking for counseling services. Reaching out for help is not an easy task, as it takes a lot of self-awareness and courage.
Coming to therapy can be nerve-racking, therefore it is my goal to create a space for you to feel safe and where you can be your authentic self. Life is tough, you are tougher, and together we can practice ways to overcome some of the most difficult challenges.
Each session together will be tailored specifically to you, your needs, and your goals. While people can experience similar hardships and challenges, therapy is not a “one size fits all” solution. You deserve your own recipe of counseling interventions and resources to better your mental health.
One of my favorite quotes is “The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be,” from Ralph Waldo Emerson. You have greatness within, and I would be honored to help you find it!
